Scholarships at University of Hull

If you progress from studying an undergraduate at Hull to an eligible taught master's degree in 2024/25 we'll give you a 25% discount on the cost of your tuition fees. This is also available to alumni who studied for an undergraduate degree at the University of Hull in previous years and would like to return to study.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for the award if you have an undergraduate degree from a previous and separate programme at the University of Hull (includes ‘top-up’ degree awards and validated degrees), or if you are an exchange student wishing to continue your studies in the 2024/25 academic year. York-registered MBBS students are also eligible for the Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship if they wish to continue on to an eligible University of Hull taught postgraduate course.

The award is available for University of Hull postgraduate taught master's degree programmes, for example MA or MSc qualifications (excludes postgraduate certificates/diplomas, PGCE, pre-registration healthcare courses such as MSc Midwifery and MSc Nutrition and Dietetics, MBA, and Masters Foundation programmes). Students undertaking research programmes are not eligible.

Award

A 50% tuition fee scholarship for all years of your undergraduate study at the University of Hull is available to 17 successful applicants.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Fairer Future Global Scholarship, all applicants must:

• Have received an offer of study for an undergraduate course at the University of Hull.

• Have not previously studied in the UK at degree level.

• Be classified as an international student for fee paying purposes.

• Not be in receipt of financial sponsorship from a government or commercial sponsorship body.

• Have submitted a reference for the purposes of scholarship selection from a teacher or counsellor from your high school.

Restrictions

• The award applies to international students holding an offer to enter a full-time, Hull-based undergraduate degree programme.

• This award is for the full duration of undergraduate study, up to the maximum of 3 years.

• The scholarship is payable as credit against tuition fees only and does not cover living expenses.

• No application for a scholarship shall be considered without the University of Hull having first received an undergraduate application to study.

• Scholarship applications must be submitted before the closing date of 31 May 2024 at midnight.

• Scholarships may only be awarded to applicants satisfying general university, departmental and programme of study regulations.

• The quality of the answers provided on the scholarship application form will be taken into consideration by the International Scholarships Awarding Committee. The application must be the applicant's own, unassisted work.

• No guarantee of a scholarship can be made where an applicant indicates that they wish to defer entry beyond September 2024/25.

2024 Scholarships

The University of Hull is offering scholarships for students beginning a full-time, postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2024.

Successful applicants in each of the categories listed below will receive an award of £2,000 (GBP) in the form of a tuition fee reduction.

• 2x Indonesian students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 4x Vietnamese students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 2x Thai students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 2x Pakistani students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 2x Egyptian students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 2x Kenyan students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 2x Moroccan students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 10x Latin American students studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a University of Hull – Global Achievers Scholarship 2024 - all applicants must:

• Be a national and hold a passport from one of the respective countries included within this scholarship.

• Have received an offer of study for a postgraduate taught degree programme at the University of Hull.

• Have achieved, or be working towards, the academic and English language entry requirements for the postgraduate course applied to.

• Have completed a University of Hull – Global Achievers Scholarship 2024 application form.

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is 31 May 2024 at midnight.

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Hull is offering 7 scholarships to students in Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam applying for postgraduate courses in September 2024.

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 72 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Please note that applicants should be passport holders of Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam.

The University of Hull, in partnership with the British Council, will be awarding the University of Hull – GREAT Scholarship 2024 – Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam. This award is for nationals of the previously listed countries who are interested in studying a full-time, postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2024.

• 1 x Turkish student studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

• 1 x Vietnamese student studying any full-time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a University of Hull – GREAT Scholarship 2024 - all applicants must:

• Be a national and hold a passport from one of the respective countries included within this scholarship.

• Have received an offer of study for a postgraduate taught degree programme at the University of Hull.

• Have achieved, or be working towards, a 2:1 degree or equivalent in their undergraduate programme recognised by the University of Hull.

• Have achieved an IELTS of at least 6.5 overall, with 5.5 in each skill or equivalent before the application deadline.

• Have not previously studied in the UK.

• Have completed a University of Hull – GREAT Scholarship 2024 application form and have answered the following questions (maximum of 250-words per question):

  • What skills and knowledge have you gained to date and how will they help you to achieve success in your chosen field of study?

  • How does the course you have applied for at the University of Hull fit with your interests and future plans, and how will the qualification enhance your career?

  • What extra-curricular activities have you engaged in and how has this contributed to your personal development?

  • How will the knowledge and leadership skills you acquire as a student of the University of Hull enhance the development of your country?
